Season 1 Discussion... Contains Spoilers for 1 as it airs

We have a new series which is proving popular called The Walking Dead.

Any comments about the show or its characters please add to here. This thread will contain spoilers as its a discussion about the current season showing.

I have now watched all 3 episodes I believe there are only 6 this season so unless they do another season this will be a short thread


Now how pickie do we get these days?

We open with the main character getting shot. Moving on, the event has happened, we see the moving of time shown with dead flowers and our hero wearing a full beard. Two things happened here, the event either happened straight after our hero got shot in which case, for a full beard his bed would be well, messed up not to mention his wound would be nasty. If the event happened after a while he'd have been cathered so just strolling out of bed would be a no no. Okay I'm pickie lets move on.

My biggest irk of the start of this show is our main character Rick never once asking WTF happened? Why are zombies wandering around? He just accepts that well it happened and this is how it is. Ummm, I'm sorry but you'd want to know what exactly caused the zombie fest. He doesn't ask anyone what happened here !

I liked Morgan and his boy, felt for him watching his zombie wife try to get in, zombie's are more intelligent now.

My favourite part was in the park, the girl/half body wow I was ewwww that's awesome.

I'm so pleased our hero isn't all knowing, he screwed up going into Atlanta, did you go "Oh feck" at that mob? Yikes how do you get out of a tank?


The second episode had us being introduced to more survivors. I'm sorry but I dislike Rick's wife, as a wife myself I'd like to think despite trauma I'd not jsut hop into bed with another man quite so quickly. Solice I hear you shout, mmm. I don't like the partner either, he's a coward but more of that later.

At this point I'll admit I don't remember all the names but the guy who helped Rick out of the tank, the chinese guy, he's going to be a favourite I think please don't kill him off.

Could you leave someone to a certain death even if they are scum? I know there is the element of survival but they handcuffed the guy you knew by the end of the episode he was pissed off.

I did swallow my very recent dinner back down watching the guys cover themselves in innards, yuck. I did see the rain coming and did shout hurry up at the tv.

I watched the third episode and found it wanting after the last two maybe I expect too much. It showed me who was willing to do something for the group and Rick's old partner the coward didn't offer to do anything but look for frogs.

I will wait for some more imput before I carry on as I don't know if anyone has seen episode 3 yet.

Mkay, I love this show! I am also a zombie fanatic. I might give it a eentsy bit more wiggle room than others but not too much. Anyway, let's see here...

• I agree about Rick never asking why this is all happening. That would be the first words out of my mouth (of course after, "Where can I get a hot shower?"). The only reason I'm not complaining about it is because there might be some big reveal or something in the next few episodes. I haven't read the novels & don't intend to, so I'm in the dark about what happens in the long run.

• I liked Morgan & his kid. Felt pretty bad about the mom & when he was trying to work up the nerve to shoot her/zombie her. He said Rick's wound was pretty rank (GROSS!!! The smell!!!) but he patched it up well.

• OMG, that mob in the first episode! I was sitting there, watching him crawl under the tank, and was just trying to figure out how on Earth he could get away. Speaking of the tank, I myself would have tried somehow to start the thing. I know it's probably uber complex & stuff, but you know, just a quick glance in the driver's seat, lol!

• I like the idea of zombies traveling to noise. That's something I never even considered while watching other zombie movies/books/etc. That would majorly suck, no music!

• Ok, there is no way in hell I would be able to sleep in one of those tents on the side of the road, lol! I know they're up in the mountains & all, but just, no, I'd be laying there all paranoid & stuff.

• I don't really love Lori or Shane much either. I'm thinking they had a little sumptin, sumptin going on before this whole zombie thing happened. Remember how Rick was talking about her in the car to Shane in the first episode...

• The Asian kid/Glenn was great! He was the comedic guy but also was able to be serious & smart in the next scene. Do cars drive that long with the alarm going though?

• Hmm, I don't know about leaving Michael Rooker up on the roof. That is a real shitty thing to do, but, in all honesty, he was a serious threat to the survival of the entire group. That's what happens when you're a racist, lol!

• Eww, that part where they were spilshing the zombie guts all over them was really gross! Smart though. I saw those clouds rolling in and was like, "Ok, let's speed it up a little here, boys..."

• God, did they like, scrape up the crummiest bunch of guys for their little roadside survival group or what? You got the racist brothers, the ignorant wife beater, cowardly & adulterating Shane...

• Speaking of Shane, I was really agreeing with him for the most part about going back to the city. The only thing that fixed it for me was getting that big ole bag 'o guns.

• Is it just me, or does Norman Reedus always play a dirty dingey looking fella? He's the racist's slightly less stupid younger brother. LOL!

So yeah, overall, I really like it. It sucks that this season is only six episodes though! The good news is that it's already been picked up for a second, standard 13 episode season! Oh and also, episode 4 comes on tonight!!!!

I just watched the season finale. I will not comment until you've had time to catch up then we can chat.

I still haven't seen it yet. Hopefully will be able to catch it over the weekend... Need to know what happened!

Yes, finally! Really liked the finale, was mad tense! Did you think Angie was gonna stay? For a sec i did but then realized that would leave almost no females, lol! I wanted to punch that scientist though; why even let them in in the first place? I don't know if it was explained & I missed it, but what was Jackie's relationship to the big guy (sorry, I can't remember his name right now)? Was she his mom or were they just friends? I gotta be honest, I was really expecting for Shane not to make it out of this episode. Dude's losing it fast. But I guess he can't die without all their dirty laundry being aired out for Rick to find out. I wonder what the scientist whispered to him. Have any idea? I'm guessing maybe something about somewhere else they might go hang out otherwise, they're kinda gonna just be driving aimlessly. Anyone know when the show will return next year?

So the other day when I was bumming it, I found they had like a marathon of all the episodes on AMC. Anyone have any idea on when season 2 will come on???

I think it's definitely end of the year or even 2012. A year would be about right. I believe they are writing and maybe filming but what scared me the most was the Director said he was not using the same writing team in season 2. Uhhh why? If it isn't broken don't fix it.

WHAAAAAA??????? I know they're usually a year in between but I figured they would start when normal shows start, like in Sept.

Hmm that does seem strange not to use the same team... Hope everything works out cuz I love the show!

It might be but I presumed a year between would be the norm.

Welps, I guess we'll just have to wait & see... with fingers crossed!

I heard the return date for the show is September so Autumn schedule so I guess that's a year then.

HEX YEAH!!!! It's funny you say that cuz just today on IMDb I read an article about the show. It's probably gonna pick pretty closely right up where it left off & we won't have to wait very long to find out what the CDC guy whispered to Rick. Good, I hate when they drag crap out. And everything that has to do with Shane will be new cuz his character actually died at this point in the books/comics.

Cool, I hope Rick finds out about the affair too that got on my nerves.

Maybe his wife is pregnant... cue the dramatic music, LOL!

LOL, with Shameful Shanes baby... wonder how that'll go down. Depending on when she got pregnant she could lie or not even know the truth herself. It'd be funny if that totally isn'the case, since we re sitting here gossiping about it, LOL!

Did you get the impression that things were kinda distant between them before the outbreak so maybe depending on how far along she is Rick will know she's been unfaithful. Maybe it causes the group top split or for a few to go another direction.
