I think the Mayan is actually a really cool guy in real life.

I found this movie when I was cleaning out my closet that someone I used to work with gave me years ago, lol! It's called Green Street Hooligans. I looked it up & guess who's one of the stars... Charlie Hunnam!

Anyone see it? I'll post my review in the movie page once I actually watch it. It's also got Elijah Wood who I like so we'll see...

Not seen it, but I think it was called Green Street in the UK. If it is it's about the fan violence at a London football club called West Ham.

I didn't know Charlie was in it, is it the same one?

Well the subject matter is very real, we had and do still to some extent terrible trouble with people going to matches to just fight. Not just with fists but anything, people would be stabbed. In the late 70's it made it almost impossible for normal fans/families to go for fear of violence.

You might not get some of the subject matter but it is pretty accurate.

Here's a trailer for it. Looks like Maria Sertis (sp) Deanna Troy in Star Trek Next Generation is a prison officer in it.

Ok, so I watched it. I enjoyed it. It was a bit predictable, like I knew EVERYTHING that would happen but still, I'm not sorry I watched it. Charlie's accent... ok now I don't have really any experience with people with Cockney accents apart from stuff I've seen on TV (and we know reliable that always is, lol)... but how does that old up to someone familiar with them? To me, it sounded really exaggerated, but then again, Cockney accents always do to me so I need your opinion. There was only one other thing that I wasn't 100% on but yeah, it was alright.

I'll have to go back and check it. He's from Newcastle which is in the North of England and their accents are very heavy and thick. I will get a video of a true Newcastle accent so you can see.

True. I think he does pretty good with the American, you can only tell when he yells that it's fake.

Well everyone assumed that if you're English you either fall into 2 categories. A cockney or a cast member of Downton Abbey.

Okay so I have trawled through You Tube and it is difficult to find accents on the site that are still relevant today. No point showing you old Newcastle accents. Now this is Ross Noble a Newcastle comedian being interviewed by some Australian guy. Ross has what I'd consider a watered down for tv accent, there is still a hint of the accent but it wouldn't confuse people on tv from the South of England. See what you think.

Okay this is much better but I'm not sure you'll understand him. This is the accent Charlie would have grown up with.

LOL, yeah so where are those subtitles???? LMAO, like I can understand every other word or two. Thanks!

Phew, I need to watch something with Charlie in his normal accent. Gosh, I do love me some British accents! But then again, you'd be hard pressed to find an American woman who doesn't. I wonder if there's somewhere where American accents are considered "cool" and/or "interesting".... Yeah, didn't think so!

LMAO
