So I started watching Insidious online, I know but whatever. It was creepy ... the attic wtf I'd have run screaming when the door opened ! Didn't get far only to just after the guy goes to the door with the knocking. That's when Norton died on me and instead normal and covering you but not with new updates they now shut down completely and only an idiot surfs the internet these days without a condom, I mean security.

Anyway one thing, this guy hears loud banging on his front door. Looks out the window and puts the porch light on etc etc. Gets a torch you know, you the get the feeling this guys into security. Then he opens the door, wtf, what idiot goes to that length but doesn't even lock the front door?

Yeah, it's the midnight showing and I'm meeting people so there's no need to rush over there...

So, a little Birdie told me you may have seen some of a certain movie tonight???

Ok, I typed that all before your reply! Stupid Norton, you gotta see the whole thing! You see what I mean about the soundtrack though? Creepy as hell...

I watched Insidious all the way through and I have to say I was rather glad for hubby's snoring company.

The first half scared me whitless, I won't give away too many spoilers but you need a pal there or watch it during the day time when the evils won't get you as you go to the bathroom. Yes okay monster live under my bed and in the stairwell of my house so I need to be brave to use the bathroom during these films. affraid Winchester Hide

The second half was good but I'd managed to convince myself to stop jumping out of my chair a bit more. The ending was a little predictable but didn't spoil it for me. Now leave it where it is and don't ruin it with a sequel !

Definitely watch it again but think parents with kids of 13 should really not let them watch it. Unless I'm just old fashioned. There is a strong chance of that lol!

Spoilers for the movie so read at your peril ... muhahahahaha

Spoiler:

I thought it was red face dancing not the young kid, he wasn't scary. Jumped when the guy entered mums bedroom, when he appeared at the table behind dad. I think knowing something was there and that sound track made it jumpier.

If dad was telling the old woman to go away ans she did how did she enter him I'm a bit vague on that?

Not a fan of Paranormal Activity at all. I love horror films (sad old Goth that I am ) but it just didnt scare me at all. Its all been done before, and I personally felt it had literally no atmosphere. I have been told the second one was better, but I couldnt bring myself to watch it.

The only thing I will say about the first one, is when I saw it at the cinema, it did give me motion sickness - all that spinning around with the camera and I had to step out of theatre for a second

Havent seen Insidious yet. Will keep an eye out for it on Sky

I went to go see Fright Night the other day. It was alright, was hoping it would be a bit smarter though. All the actors are really great, just the writing was kinda lame.

I missed this when it came to our local theatre. Like you Dean, I will probably watch when it comes on the movie channel. I have to say, I did LOL at the pics of David Tennant who was obviously channeling Michael Sheen's Lucian

Geez, has there been ANYTHING worth mentioning in the theaters lately???

LOL, I got free tix to see the Footloose remake, so I did that earlier this week. It was cute but I am very glad I did not pay any $ to see it. I've never seen the original, but from what some people said, it follows it very closely.

I'm waiting to hear tomorrow from someone who loves the 1982 version of The Thing as much as I do to know whether or not I will be going to see that this weekend. Otherwise, I'll wait till it's on HBO.

Now, I can't remember if I mentioned this or not but I did also catch an advanced screening of the Tom Hardy/Joel Edgerton flick Warrior. Ok, now we all know I've got a bit of a thing for Mr. Hardy but I actually enjoyed this movie waaayy more than I expected. These two guys along with Nick Nolte who plays their father were outstanding in it. It's funny cuz the movie is a little cliche andwell general not my type of movie but I don't know, everything just works in it If you get the chance, check it out, you won't be disappointed.

There is nothing for me at the moment, there are films like The Avengers but that's next year.

I loved The Thing with Kurt Russell but the new version looked awful, I don't like a woman being the main character, probably due to Kurt owning that role.

I see your new avatar and banner are from Warrior. I don't know anything about this, seriously I have lived in the hospital for the last 3 months so I know nothing.

I am really looking forward to a film which is not yet being filmed but it is to be directed by Ron Howard ! It will star Chris Hemsworth, Daniel Brühl, Olivia Wilde and Russell Crowe.

It's called Rush, it's about the sport Formula 1 which is huge in the UK. It will concentrate on Chris Hemsworth who plays one of the UK's national heroes James Hunt, sadly he died a few years ago. It is based in 1976 where Daniel Brühl plays Niki Launda. IMDB states this is the tag line, "A biography of Formula 1 champion driver Niki Lauda and the 1976 crash that almost claimed his life. Mere weeks after the accident, he got behind the wheel to challenge his rival, James Hunt." Crowe plays Richard Burton who steals Hunt's wife. As you can tell this is all real life.

2013 according to IMDB.

Niki Launda had a terrible crash in Germany during the 1976 season, his car exploded and he was strapped inside. He was so terribly burned how he lived is a miracle.

Good thing is hubby is mad on F1 as they call it, so we can both watch it.

Still have Senna to watch when the season finishes, it's a biographical film of Ayrton Senna who was a F1 driver died in 1994 was going at about 200 mph when he hit a wall. he survived but the tyre which came off hit him in the head and killed him.

Re: The Movie Topic

Post by Sam on Tue Feb 14, 2012 11:48 pm

Ok, I've seen several movies since we last were on here. Don't judge me though, more than half of these I only saw because they were free advance screenings!

21 Jump Street - never watched the show but I don't think it's supposed to follow it really. I laughed a lot more than I expected to at this one, mainly at Jonah Hill. Channing Tatum has come a ways as an actor, still not great but way better than he used to be. And yes, funny too! A few of the show's original cast members make cameos too (yes that includes Mr. Depp).

This Means War - I was sooo hoping I would get advance tix to this and I did!!! Love Reese Witherspoon, actually Chris Pine and Tom Hardy were great too. Tom kept his real accent too, which is always a plus! There were several times where I laughed (mainly at Chelsea Handler's lines) but it's a bit predictable. Good date movie, or if you're a fan of any of the leads.

The Girl With the Dragon Tatoo - Very good movie. I know what everybody's gonna say cuz I'm American and blah blah blah, but yes, I enjoyed this one more than the Swedish version. Rooney Mara played Lisbeth Salander exactly how I envisioned her when I read the trilogy. And Daniel Craig was really good too (except his accent WTF?!?!) The only actor I wasn't over the moon about was Robin Wright. IDK, something about the way she played her character wasn't meshing for me. Anyway, definitely am curious to see how they would do the next two, if they get made. The opening credits of the movie is pretty interesting too!

The Woman in Black - Ok I don't want to give away any of the storyline to this one. It was good, but I felt like they were holding back. Like, I didn't get scared from it and I was really wanting to! Daniel Radcliffe did a good job, I actually only referenced him as Harry Potter like twice, lol!

I rented Drive and What's Your Number, so they're sitting at home for me now. Once I watch them, I'll let you know what's up!
