Re: The Movie Topic
This should maybe be in the music section but the video for Pimps Don't Cry starring Cee-Lo Green & Eva Mendes. I'll look for the video on You Tube I didn't realise there was one.

Re: The Movie Topic
So I found the video, I don't think it was a single but as its from the movie The Other Cops adding it here.
Re: The Movie Topic
I love Eva Mendes. Can't wait to see that movie when it comes out to rent.
Alright, yesterday I watched the documentary Religulous. I've been meaning to see this since it was in the theater & I was not disappointed. Basically, it's Bill Maher's take on the state of religions now. I really liked it. Pretty entertaining with a few good laughs thrown in. If you're a fan of Maher and are open-minded when it comes to religion, I'd recommend watching it. I'm not gonna sit on here & discuss the finer aspects of the film though.
I also saw Paranormal Activity 2 the other day. I can't remember whether or not I left a review, so I'll just do a quick one. It was good. Made me jump a bunch and the storyline was much better than I thought it would be (given the short amount of time between this & the first one's releases). If you go see it, I would recommend watching the first one. It helps you notice a lot of little things in the new movie that you might miss if you haven't seen the first in a while.

Glad you liked Paranormal 2 I will wait for it to rent I think.
No idea who Bill Maher is.

Re: The Movie Topic
I love Bill Maher! He's a liberal comedian/actor/writer/social commentator.
I haven't seen too many new movies lately... um, let's see... Oh, well I saw When In Rome the other day. The storyline was, well... ok, the movie is pretty much garbage. The only reasons I watched it are Kristen Bell & Josh Duhamel but even still, I wouldn't recommend it. Plot holes & inconsistencies up the wazoo & completely predictable. Oh well...
Oh, I read that The Expendables is coming out for redbox soon! Can't wait, especially since it will only cost $1!!!

Re: The Movie Topic
What's redbox?
Hubby wants to see Skyline, anyone seen it or likes it? All I know is the guy who plays Baptisa in Dexter is in it. Or at least is in the small trailer I saw on tv tonight.

Re: The Movie Topic
Yeah, it looks pretty cool! The trailers look good, but I wonder how the actual storyline is. Donald Faison & Eric Balfour are also in it.
Redbox are these DVD kiosks outside of stores that have newer DVDs available to rent. They cost $1 per 24 hours, even for the real new stuff. Very easy to use & inexpensive but not that big of a selection outside of the just released movies.

Re: The Movie Topic
Cool, most of the Blockbusters around here are closing down, I think most people don't rent anymore. I would if they only cost $1 here.
Re: The Movie Topic
With the advent of cable tv having home box office so you can pay the same rental price for a movie without having to go and get it or return it. Plus the added knowledge you didn't have to be concerned about tape quality or your tv being out of stock.
Re: The Movie Topic
LOL, I remember this video rental up the street from where I used to live had the little slogan "Be Kind, Please Rewind" on all the VHS tapes.
Sweet!!!! I just turned on the TV and Jackie Brown just started. I for some reason really enjoy this movie.

Re: The Movie Topic
Now that I don't remember. We had this betamax at this other job and it was a pain in the motherfudging ass to deal with!
Yeah, it's the Pam Grier one.

Re: The Movie Topic
The whole home video issue of betamax vs VHS was late 70's early 80's.
You were working with Betamax, geez how old was the machine?

Re: The Movie Topic
It was for this one ancient company that needed our stuff on betamx. In this day & age, why??? I have no idea how old it was, probably older than me.
Re: The Movie Topic
I would've have thought they'd have transferred it all onto something more modern, surely their client's wouldn't be able to use the format.
Re: The Movie Topic
Hubby and I want to see this movie, Battle Los Angeles in March, we nothing more than we loved the trailer. Kinda Independence Day meets District 9 and Black Hawk Down. Love the music too.
I really hope the trailer is the best part of the movie which so often happens.

Re: The Movie Topic
I just read about that earlier today, lol! Looks interesting for sure but I agree, hope those aren't the best parts.
